Beyond Retirement

What’s next after retirement? Some staff see retirement as a big life change — your daily routine, your regular interactions with colleagues and students, or the amount of free time you have may all shift. Thankfully, there are ways to stay connected with UBC. You’ll also find many resources online and in the broader community to help support your transition into retirement.

Stay Connected with UBC

Even after your retire, you are always welcome to stay connected to the UBC community. Take advantage of the various attractions and facilities that UBC has to offer, including museums, galleries, fitness centres, musical venues, and even world-class gems like the UBC Botanical and Nitobe Memorial Gardens. Many of these attractions and facilities offer discounts for seniors. Learn more by visiting UBC perks for faculty and staff on the HR website.

UBC Extended Learning is another great resource for those who see learning as a lifelong pursuit. Try learning a new language, develop your technology skills, hone your craft as a writer, or discover many other offerings from UBC professors and other subject matter experts. Visit UBC Extended Learning for their list of offerings.

You may also like to have a look at the UBC Events calendar to stay updated on a wide range of talks, workshops, performances, and other events happening year-round on UBC’s campuses.
